Welcome to Words In Clay

Working at stoneware temperatures, with a coarse clay, enables items to be used safely outdoors, where they mellow and blend with their surroundings. This connection with the earth from which they are formed is important to me.

Here you can see a selection of my work from functional to decorative, small to large. Making house names and numbers, often the first point of contact for visitors, lets me interpret people’s ideas, and making these needs a certain amount of precision. Whilst the sculptures and pots allow me more freedom and creativity.
